Deforestation

Deforestation

Deforestation means cutting down trees in large numbers. Deforestation means spoiling [নষ্ট করা] tress in large numbers. Trees are very much important for our existence [অস্তিত্ব]. Without trees, we do not get oxygen which is very much related to existence of human beings as well as other animals. They are also a great source of food, vitamins and furniture. Most of the living beings on earth live on plant-oriented food like fruits, vegetables, leaves etc. So, we cannot live a single moment without trees. But nowadays, plants are being destroyed at an alarming [উদ্বেগ জনক] rate. A huge amount of plants is being cut down for construction works and for making furniture. It leads to soil erosion [ক্ষয়]. It deprives [বঞ্চিত করা] us of fruit and wood. Due to deforestation carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide. As a result, the world is becoming warmer. The sea level is rising and many parts of the world are going to be engulfed [গ্রাস করা] by the sea water in recent future. If deforestation goes on, our country will turn into a desert. We can take many measures to prevent deforestation. Tree plantation programme should be expanded to the remote corner of the country. The government should make TV and radio programme on the subject of the danger of deforestation.
