The Life of a Farmer



A farmer is one, who farms or cultivates [চাষ] the land for agricultural [কৃষিজাত] production [উৎপাদন]. In any agricultural country, farmers play a vital [অপরিহার্য] role [ভূমিকা]. He may be rich or poor. He works in the field from dawn [ভোর] to dusk [গোধুলি]. He rises early in the morning and goes to the field to seed, to weed or to harvest [শস্য কাটা]. After finishing his work in the field, he returns home in the twilight [সন্ধ্যা]. Usually he wears old and dirty cloths. The life of a farmer in our country is full of uncertainty [অনিশ্চয়তা]. Sometimes, he passes his days in great joy if he can produce his crops well. Again, he may face hard days if production of food grains falls because of natural calamities [দুর্যোগ]. The income of a farmer is not too high to continue his life comfortably [আরামের সহিত] and happily. The income of a farmer is not too high to continue his life comfortably and happily. His life is full of sorrow and suffering. He lives below poverty line. He looks older than his age. When he is unable to feed his family members properly at that time his wife is bound to work in other houses or institutions as a house made. Sometimes, he is unable to educate his children due to acute poverty. In spite of his unhappy life he feels happy because he leads an honest life.
