An ideal teacher is he who is loved and respected by his students for
his noble [মহৎ] qualities. It is said
that a teacher is an architect [স্থপতি] of a nation. He plays
an important role in building up an educated nation. We all know that good
education begins with sound academic instruction [শিক্ষাদান]. For this reason, a
teacher must be both scholar [পন্ডিত
ব্যক্তি] and dutiful. He must make lessons interesting. To
make his lecture easy, lucid [স্পষ্ট] and interesting, he
must work hard so that the general students can follow him easily. He should be
a good speaker with good, strong pleasing voice which must be under his
control. He must be an actor to hold the
attention and interest of his students. He should keep students busy. He should
have the qualities to bring out all the latent [অপ্রকাশিত] talents of a student.
He should restrain [বাধা দেওয়া] students from evil
[মন্দ] company and wrong ways. Besides, he must have intense [তীব্র] interest in the
career of students, love for their welfare and the attitude of treating
students as sons and daughters. Moreover, an ideal teacher must not hanker [লোভী
হওয়া] after money. Rather [বরং], he should try to be
professional so that he can provide quality education. Unless these inherent
[সহজাত] virtues remain in a teacher, sheer [নিছক] intellect, diligence
[অধ্যবসায়] or practiced sternness [কঠোরতা] of character cannot
make him ideal.
