Eve Teasing

Eve teasing means molestation [নারী-নির্যাতন] or exciting young girls sexually by making indecent [অশ্লীল] remarks [মন্তব্য] or vulgar [অমার্জিত] comments on them. It usually starts with winking [ইশারা] eyes and making obscene [অশ্লীল] gestures [ইশারা] and may go to the extent of physical assault [হামলা] and harassment [হয়রানি]. Generally, school and college-going girls become victims [শিকার] of eve teasing. It is a matter where boys use bad language to the girls who silently hate them without taking any kind of revenge [প্রতিশোধ]. For removing it forever from the society everybody should be careful about it. Everybody should behave with each other like brother and sister. Here religious rules can contribute [অবদান] a lot. If anybody does this again they should be punished for their deeds [কর্ম]. And we should take immediate [আশু] action if anybody makes this violations [লঙ্ঘন]. Boys who see their fathers treating their mothers with respect will automatically grow into men who think likewise. Boys and girls should be allowed to mingle [মিশা] freely so that they can learn to respect each other’s individuality [ব্যক্তিত্ব]. Men need to realize that every woman is some man’s wife or daughter or sister or mother; and must be treated [আচরণ করা] with the same respect, they would accord [দেওয়া] to their own. Eve teasing is a social crime and it should be prevented [প্রতিহত] at any cost. The law-enforcing authorities should deal with the eve teasers. People’s conscience [বিবেক] and consciousness [চেতনা] must also be aroused [উদ্রেক] to stop this nuisance [উপদ্রব].
