Education is the process [পদ্ধতি] by which we can develop our mind through formal learning at an
institution like school, college or university. It is one of the basic needs of
human being. It is also essential for any kind of development. The purpose [উদ্দেশ্য] of education is to enlighten [আলোকিত] the individual and develop one’s capacity [ক্ষমতা] to the limit. It helps one to distinguish [প্রভেদ করা] between right and wrong. It enables [সক্ষম] us to make the right choices in life and to perform [সম্পাদন] our duties properly [সঠিকভাবে]. It ennobles [উন্নত করা] our mind and refines [বিশুদ্ধ হত্তয়া] our sensibility [চৈতন্য]. In this way education can certainly remove the darkness of ignorance.
Besides, education broadens [প্রশস্ত করা] our outlook [দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি]. It promotes [প্রচার] humanity [মানবতা] and universal brotherhood [ভ্রাতৃত্ব]. Thus education promotes understanding
among people of all climes [স্থান]. Education can be used as catalyst [অনুঘটক] for a change for the better. Education provides us with the knowledge
of health, sanitation and population control. It also enhances [আরও বাড়িয়ে দেয়] our ability [ক্ষমতা] to raise crops, increase industrial production, store food, protect the
environment and carry out our social responsibilities. Thus education contributes
[অবদান] enough towards a change for the better and its necessity can more be
felt than described. It goes without saying that ‘No Education, No Life!’ Just
like food, water and air, education has become a basic necessity for everyone
to survive in today’s world.
