An export or an international trade fair is a large gathering [জড়ো] of international nature for the display of industrial goods to the
foreign buyers to get them acquainted [অবগত] with the exportable items of a country. Dhaka International Trade Fair,
organized by the Export Promotion Bureau together with the Ministry of Commerce
of the Government of Bangladesh, has been held annually at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar
in Dhaka on the west side of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre since
its inaugural [উদ্বোধনী] fair in December 1995. It is open every day from 10 am to 10 pm and is
held from the first week of January to the first week of February every year.
The local producer in the remote [প্রত্যন্ত] areas of rural Bangladesh who does not have financial strength to
participate in International trade fair will have the opportunity to display
their products to the buyer from abroad [বিদেশ] at this fair. Besides, there are country specific [নির্দিষ্ট] foreign sections at the fair, which has
nearly seven hundred mini-stalls, general stalls, premium stalls,
mini-pavilions and mega-pavilions. Various food stalls offer local and foreign
items to customers wishing to take a break from walking around. The visitors
are drawn to the numerous [অসংখ্য] attractive discounts, special offers,
introductory prices, gifts and lotteries. The last seven days see hectic [ব্যস্ততা] buying with very large crowds during
holidays and especially during weekends, which are Fridays and Saturdays in
Bangladesh. Besides, the participants will be able to identify business
contacts with prospect [আশা] of entering into subsequent [পরবর্তী] business negotiation [সমঝোতা]. International trade fair is very much useful for developing trade of
our countries and it should be held every year to encourage [অনুপ্রেরণা দেওয়া] the importers form countries to import
goods from our country. Thus it will widen [বিস্তৃত] scope [ক্ষেত্র] for the sale of industrial goods and will
thereby create market for our exportable good.
