My
Dear Rohit,
The
name of our country is Bangladesh which became independent in 1971. Dhaka is
its capital. Its land area is 1,47,570 square kilometres. About 160 million
people live here. Most of them are Muslim. Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural
country. Its main crops are rice, jute, sugar-cane and tea. Jack-fruits,
mangoes, bananas, pine-apples, guavas and water-melons are the most common
fruits. The Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna and the Karnaphuli are the big rivers
in our country. It is enriched [সমৃদ্ধ]
with natural beauty. The longest sea beach of the world, the biggest
mangrove forest, eye catching tea garden of Sylhet, Maynamati, Bagerhat,
Mohastangar of Bogura, Jaflong, Madhobkundo, Shusong Durgapur of Birishiri etc.
are famous tourist places here. In fact, I feel proud to have a nice country as
Bangladesh.
