A Book Fair

A book fair is a place where different kinds of books are displayed and sold. It has recently become very popular in our country. Nowadays it is held in every town and city on some occasions, especially, on the occasion of the 21st February. The largest book fair in our country is held on the premises [প্রাঙ্গনে] of Bangla Academy on the occasion of the 21^st February. The book fair has created a sense of interest for books among the general mass. In a book fair hundreds of pavilions are set up. All sorts of books like storybooks, reference books, historical books, children books, fictions and non-fictions etc. are displayed and sold in a book fair. A book fair becomes crowded especially in the evening. Both the male and female, young and old gather [একত্র হত্তয়া] here. The writers also visit the fair regularly. Seminars and cultural programs are also held. A book fair reminds us that books are our best friends. They are always at our side when we are in danger. It is books that help us to forget jealousy [ঈর্ষা], malice [পরহিংসা] and superstitions [কুসংস্কার]. In the book fair we get these best friends at a cheap rate. There are also food and tea stalls in a book fair. A book fair plays a very important role in our life. Thus, a book fair helps us to widen our domain [এলাকা] of knowledge.
