Fables

The word ‘Fable’ comes from the Latin word ‘Fabula’ which means a story. Fables are short in length having moral lesson at the end. The characters [চরিত্র] in a fable are usually animals or forces of nature whose words and actions reflect on human behaviour [আচরণ]. These fables are very charming [মনোমুগ্ধকারী] and interesting [মজাদার]. But the aim of these kind of stories fables is very educative. Most commonly known fables are written by Aesop, a legendary [পৌরাণিক] storyteller in Italy. People can strengthen their morality by reading the fables of Aesop. He liked to teach people but he also liked to entertain [চিত্তবিনোদন] them. Aesop thought that people learn better when they enjoy themselves. So, besides giving entertainment fables make people wiser. So we should read the fables as they are not only entertaining but also educative.
